THE CITY
Hertogenbosch is a city with a rich history. Herto Hendrik 1st of Brabant founded ´s-Herogenbosch in 1185 and gave it its city rights and the trade privileges that went with this. What can still be seen from this past? In the first place, there is the St. Jan´s Cathedral, built in one of the city's prosperous periods.
Then there is the "Moriaan" house, the "Kruithuis" magazine, the Citadel fort and the town hall. Above all, there is the largely untouched structure of the old heart of the city, the pattern of winding streets within the partly preserved belt of city walls and the city centre with its triangular market, the oldest part of the city. ´s-Hertogenbosch is a place where the old lives alongside the new, the past alongside the new wealth. But, above all, ´s-Hertogenbosch is a city full of atmosphere, a wonderful place to stay.
THE SCHOOL
The "Instituut Jeroen Bosch", in Vught, is the Dutch partner-school in the European Year. This institute is very internationally oriented and is a Dutch leader in the area of language training. Twenty-five modern languages are taught at the institute by qualified native speakers and "tailor made" courses are supported by the language laboratory and video. The school of course uses the most modern teaching methods and equipment.
